Under general supervision, the Compliance Specialist Canada uses technical and regulatory expertise working closely with internal and external parties to ensure regulatory, technical and safety compliance of KTM Group products distributed in Canada.

Maintains necessary compliance documents, prepares mandatory product reports, research of regulatory topics, investigates TC/ECCC/ISED/HC related issues, and participates in compliance relevant workshops, seminars or similar.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Generally, requires a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in motorcycle / E-bicycle industry related government regulatory affairs/technical documentation. Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Technical training and/or certificates or equivalent experience in related field required/preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs administrative tasks related to specific regulatory and industry standards compliance that KTM Group products must meet.
  • Represents KTM Canada at various industry councils, such as MMIC, VSWG, IMMA, etc. and provides feedback/support to KTM North America in the US as needed
  • Researches various product compliance related topics and prepares feedback on CAN specific inquiries from HQ or the US and in coordination with external consultants.
  • Coordinates project related topics with outside certification consultants on the engineering and regulatory side. Conducts, prepares, and submits routine compliance reports (stewardship programs).
  • Attends virtual / in-house technical trainings to stay up to date with new product development.
  • Creates and maintains an archive (computer database) of all Canada relevant compliance documents for reference upon request.
  • Handles various special projects, as required, and performs other duties as assigned.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Attention to detail, especially with regards to technical specifications.
  • Ability to read and understand complex regulatory documents relating to homologation/compliance topics
  • Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and understand when to escalate potential issues Advanced motorcycle engineering and mechanics
  • Motorcycle endorsement and experience required Basic electric (vehicle) engineering knowledge
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven and constantly changing environment
  • Flexibility to switch gears with little notice
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy; must be a team player
  • Analytical abilities
  • Must be self-motivated with ability to use own initiative
