Responsibilities:

• Operate a profitable and efficient general merchandise department.
• Accomplish objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing, merchandising, building a loyal clientele, displaying and advertising.
• Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
• Establish and maintain procedures to safeguard inventory.
• Serve as liaison with factory representatives.
• Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the General Merchandise department.
• Monitor general merchandise department employees’ payroll records.
• Handle customer complaints immediately and according to facility guidelines.
• Develop sales promotions.
• Ability to work well with the public.
• Ability to use personal computer and applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Requirements:

Minimum of three years experience in a retail management position.
